Hello CCHRC members,
First of all I would like to start this June newsletter off congratulating all our members who had a successful spring hunt test season. It was quite a pleasure watching your dogs grow in training and at events whether you’re striving for your next Master National or faithful hunting partner.
As we are feeling the heat of summer upon us it can be tough to get any club events scheduled with the heat and/or busy family summer schedules. We are going to try and schedule a couple early morning short training events in SLO County locally for those who would like to attend over the summer. The club has gained access to a new property with a pond in northern SLO County, so hopefully we can make use of it on some morning water work then have a nice BBQ lunch to discuss club business. All information will be posted on the club website, so stay tuned.
As for other club news, we have not heard back from AKC on our club approval yet. When we do and hopefully soon you will be the first to know. We then can begin our planning of our AKC hunt test next spring which will take all of us to pull off successfully.
The club has also received another batch of flyers both pigeons and ducks for your training needs, so if you would like to make sure the next time your dog sees a live flyer isn’t at a fall hunt test or opening day of hunting season please contact Jason Smith for pick up, prices will remain the same as they were this spring.
Unfortunately we had to cancel the Bill Hillman seminar, and we understand everyone’s spring season can be busy, full of dog and personal reasons. If you have an interest attending in the future please let Ron Stahl know and we will try to reschedule this event to accommodate more individual schedules both club and non-club members.
As always, if you have any ideas or suggestions for club events, training locations and questions about what we are doing please contact one of the board of directors. This is yourclub we were elected to serve you the members in trying to bring you what you need and want out of your retriever club as a group. So if you don’t tell us we don’t know.
Hopefully we will see you and your dogs soon,
Central Coast Hunting Retriever Club
